  • What is the purpose of this survey? We want to determine how people form their opinions about some major global policy issues. You will be asked about a particular topic.


  • Who is paying for this study? The National Science Foundation, an independent agency of the U.S. government, is funding this research through a grant to the University of California at Los Angeles.


  • How long will it take? Early returns have shown that the typical time needed is about 25 minutes. 75% have completed the survey in less than 35 minutes. Others have chosen to spend a little more time.


  • What's in it for you?
    • An opportunity to learn more about a major global policy issue
    • Your answers, along with those of other survey participants, will provide crucial information to policy makers about how citizens feel about the importance of different features of possible policies.

  • Preliminaries?
    • The official "Consent to Participate in Research" for all survey research at the University of California.

    • Identify your professor and course and the class password.
